Becca: Just because a person is educated and/or wealthy does not make them an expert at understanding disease, scientific research, or immunizations. I am sure your idea of "research" about immunizations goes no farther than the internet. Researching the risks, benefits, and effectiveness of vaccines using the internet will leave you far from "informed." Listen to the experts, they really are trying to help.

Thank you for your biased article. It makes me thankful that I am smart enough to question and can make informed decisions for my children and myself.

This quote really gets me: "Counterintuitively, higher rates of non-vaccination often correspond with higher levels of education and wealth."

How is that counterintuitive? I am quite certain that those with lower levels of education and wealth are less likely to question and more likely to blindly buy into fear tactics. If more people actually researched the risks, benefits, and effectiveness of vaccines and compared their findings to the risks of the so-called vaccine-preventable illnesses, non-vaccination rates would continue to soar.
